Titiek Soeharto Trying to Shop for Politics at Rp.50,000

Prabowo Subianto. A middle-aged mother hurriedly brought her shopping at Ciputat Market, South Tangerang, Thursday (11/22) morning at 09.00 WIB. Every now and then his body touches other buyers in the market. The smell of sweat that bursts and the moist air on the market is slightly cured by the smiles of the traders to the buyers who come to their stalls.

Siti Hediati Hariyadi alias Titiek Soeharto probably never visited Ciputat Market. But the statement about the price of basic food received various responses from people in the market.

Titiek, daughter of the New Order ruler, Suharto, alluded to food prices in the era of President Jokowi while campaigning for Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno in Cilegon, Banten.

There Titiek asked as if challenging the government: What can the people get now with Rp. 50,000 in the market?

"The gap between the rich and the poor is getting wider. Ladies and women have money now of Rp50,000, can you buy anything if you go to the market? While the rich get richer, the poor get poorer," Titiek said on Wednesday (11/14 )

Yenna is a mother of three. When met at Ciputat Market, this 38-year-old woman claimed to have brought Rp50,000 several times to shop.

He did not specify what could be bought with Rp50 thousand. But with that much money, Yenna said she could not meet the food needs of the whole family. At best, he said, Rp50,000 can support himself and his two children. That is only for two meals.

"The two children clearly eat. If the big boy and the husband eat lunch outside. Love is not counted. Don't waste it. Same with me, three of them, yes, twice [eating]," Yenna said.

Rosita, 48 years old, openly stated that it was not enough if she had to shop at the market with a capital of IDR 50,000.

The Rosita family numbered five people. To meet the food needs of all Rosita family members, they admitted that they had to spend at least Rp 100,000 per day when shopping at Ciputat Market.

"That (Rp. 100,000) is minimal. It must be finished, rice. All oil. Two meals. Rice Rp. 15,000 a day. Just eat it, it is outside transportation," he said.

In Ciputat Market bought 0.5 kg of chicken for Rp. 18 thousand, one block of tempeh was purchased for Rp. 3,000, as well as vegetables such as carrots, beans, cabbage, spring onions, and celery leaves to cook vegetable soup for Rp.

Three potatoes and ingredients to make chilli were also purchased for Rp. 7 thousand each and Rp. 5,000. Not to forget, complementary ingredients are purchased at a price of Rp. 5.

All of the materials spent a total of IDR 48 thousand. The money of Rp50 thousand is now remaining Rp2 thousand.

Without cooking oil, all the ingredients are in vain. Forced to buy 900 ml of cooking oil for Rp. 12 thousand, plus herbs such as pepper and salt at a low price of Rp. 2,000.

With this additional amount, you have to spend a total of IDR 62 thousand. At home, vegetable soup plus chicken from shopping in Ciputat Market can only be eaten twice for five family members.

In Mampang Jaya Market, Rp 50,000 can buy three fresh mackerel (Rp. 5,000), tofu (Rp. 3,000), one tempeh (Rp. 5,000) and 1 ounce of chillies, tomatoes, shallots and garlic for Rp. 15 thousand.

For vegetables bought spinach one bundle of IDR 5,000. A quarter of a kilogram is purchased at a price of IDR 4 thousand and an egg is a quarter of a kilogram of IDR 6 thousand.

Apart from without cooking oil and rice, they had to go home by walking for about 3 kilometers.

Experiments carried out by titiek confirmed Titiek Soeharto's innuendo regarding the high prices on the market. But Surtini had a different opinion.

The woman who has traded for 15 years in Ciputat Market said the price in the market was indeed volatile or fluctuating, depending on the supply of goods. So it is only natural that Rp50,000 is not enough to meet the needs of a family meal in one day.

"Carrots were IDR 12,000, now IDR 16,000 a kilogram. Shallots are now around IDR 28,000 to IDR 30,000. They were IDR 24,000 a kilogram. Items were empty, the expensive items were empty," Surtini said while showing
